Following a driving under the influence arrest in Walnut Creek, California, a motorist’s first priority should be to consult with a knowledgeable and experienced DUI defense attorney. The Law Office of Robert Tayac is a highly specialized DUI defense firm with years of experience successfully representing motorists accused of driving under the influence (DUI) or driving with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) at or above California’s legal limit of 0.08% in Contra Costa County Superior Courts. With an understanding of DUI law unmatched by rival firms, the Law Office of Robert Tayac is aptly prepared to handle every aspect of your Walnut Creek DUI case.

While driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is one of the more commonly charged crimes in California, the specialization of knowledge necessary to successfully defend a DUI case is something many general practice criminal defense attorneys do not possess.

The extremely complex nature of a driving under the influence case requires a DUI lawyer to exhibit expertise on a variety of topics including: human physiology, chemistry, breath-alcohol testing, blood-alcohol testing, direct and cross-examination of expert witnesses, and strict law enforcement procedures for probable cause, preliminary screening, and chemical testing.

Every DUI lawyer employed by the Law Office of Robert Tayac has received specialized training specifically targeted to the successful defense of DUI related charges. This office is dedicated to providing the highest quality of legal representation possible, and therefore, you can be sure that your Walnut Creek DUI case will be given the utmost attention from start to finish.

In addition to the DUI criminal case initiated in the Contra Costa County Superior Court, a Walnut Creek DUI arrest also initiates a second administrative case which is reviewed by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). During this hearing, an employee of the Department of Motor Vehicles’ Driver Safety Office is tasked with the effort of determining the status of a motorist’s California driving privileges.

In order to contest the possible suspension of an individual’s driver license, a request must be made for an Administrative Per Se (APS) hearing within ten (10) days of the Walnut Creek DUI arrest. In the event that the hearing is not scheduled within the allotted time, the individual’s license is automatically suspended for 4 months. This suspension is imposed 30 days after the date of the driving under the influence arrest. With your California driving privileges at stake, it is imperative to consult with a qualified DUI defense lawyer immediately.

The Law Office of Robert Tayac has been helping clients accused of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs for nearly a decade. The office’s positive reputation, practical experience, winning track record, and unparalleled knowledge of DUI laws have helped to make the Law Office of Robert Tayac the Bay Area’s premier DUI defense firm. Walnut Creek General Information

Martinez Court HouseWalnut Creek is a suburban community located several miles east of the city of Oakland in Contra Costa County, California. It lies in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area. While not as large as neighboring Concord, Walnut Creek serves as the business and entertainment hub for the neighboring cities within central Contra Costa County, due in part to its location at the junction of the highways from Sacramento and San Jose and San Francisco/Oakland.

Walnut Creek began to grow with the arrival of Southern Pacific Railroad service in 1891. On October 21, 1914, the town and the surrounding area of 500 acres, were incorporated as the 8th city in Contra Costa County, California.

A branch line of the Southern Pacific railroad ran through Walnut Creek until the early 1960s. The mainline of the Sacramento Northern Railway also passed through Walnut Creek. Both railroads had stations in Walnut Creek. Today, the Pittsburg/Bay Point – SFO line of the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) serves Walnut Creek with a station adjacent to Highway 680.
