Revocation, suspension, or cancellation of driver license for California DUI chemical test failure, DUI chemical test refusal and California Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) administrative per se orders including 10-day civil revocations and implied consent California driver license revocation or suspension.

Separately, while not a comprehensive list, below are examples of reportable California driving under the influence (DUI) criminal convictions:

  • California driving under the influence (DUI) conviction;
  • California driving with a blood alcohol level of .08% or greater (DUI);
  • California driving while impaired on medication or drugs (DUI);

Note: Pursuant to 14 CFR 61.15, all pilots must send a Notification Letter (Word document) to FAA’s Security and Investigations Division, within 60 calendar days of the effective date of an alcohol-related conviction or administrative action. The Notification Letter should be mailed to the address below by certified or registered mail with a return receipt requested.

Failure to send a Notification Letter within 60 days following a California DUI criminal conviction or California DMV administrative action to FAA’s Security & Investigations Division is grounds for denial of an application for any certificate, rating, or authorization issued under this regulation for up to one year after the date of the California DUI related action, and/or suspension or revocation of any certificate, rating, or authorization issued under this regulation.
